Some photos

Here are some photos from this term. Some are reading activities, some are from Discovery and some are from Amby the Ambulance's visit. You might be able to guess which book we have been reading, including the 4 kids who have bought/brought their own copy to read along with me!

Welcome!

Room 3 would like to welcome Josh and Liam, who have both joined LMS and Room 3 in the last couple of weeks.
There has been a lot happening, photos to follow...

Term 3

Hard to believe, but we are already past the half way mark in our school year. We are pleased to welcome Regan, Joseph and Kody to Room 3 for the remainder of the year. Once again, we have a busy term in front of us, but I am sure we will cope.

Week 8

Just a quick message to do two things; firstly, farewell to Miss Ridder, after 7 weeks in Room 3 as a student teacher. She had a fantastic and  successful placement and she will certainly be missed. And secondly, a big welcome to Jada Smith, who joins us after moving to Aotearoa from Australia. Jada has settled in really well and we are already getting to know her giggle!

Week 4 done

Happy Queen's Birthday! I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend and getting out in this stunning Tasman sunshine. We had a terrific day on Friday, making, creating, playing and enjoying activities around our theme Medieval Times. Here are some photos up of how the kids looked. Special mention to Mia who could do her activity with her eyes closed!

Term 2 Week 3

Somehow, it is already Week 3! We have been very busy in Room 3, getting lots of work done. We are looking at Measurement in maths- how we measure and the units we use (mm, cm, m, km). The kids are getting much better at estimating lengths and measuring after to see how close their estimates were.
In Writing we are learning to write Informative Reports. We are researching information on animals to present as reports. The kids are loving learning interesting facts on their chosen animal.
For Topic, we are learning about how we keep ourselves healthy. We have started by looking at food, what is in it and the good old Food Pyramid.
We are also trying to get outside with the tennis balls, and hopefully with some soccer balls too before the end of the term.

We are fortunate to have Miss Krissy Ridder working with us for 7 weeks this term. Krissy is a trainee teacher and she is loving getting to know the wonderful children in Room 3 and throughout LMS.
Below are some photos - of Jacob in his Dad's old LMS sports top, some patterns from Term 1 maths, a healthy looking lunchbox (to do with topic), some puzzles and some food pyramids the kids were filling in themselves.

Week 9 Already!

All of a sudden we are getting close to the end of the term. I am not sure where the weeks have gone, but I am sure that the kids have made some big strides already and are well placed to have a terrific year. We are still swimming, weather dependent, and will be until the end of the term. Here are a few photos of recent goings on...
